Choosing a catamaran isn’t really about length in feet - it’s about matching cabins, guest numbers and layout to your group so everyone is comfortable for a week. Get it right and the boat feels spacious and easy; get it wrong and even a big yacht feels cramped.

Start with cabins, not length
The key number is cabins. As a rule, plan one cabin per couple, plus a cabin for singles or children. Most of our crewed catamarans offer five to seven guest cabins, comfortably sleeping eight to twelve guests, with the crew in their own separate quarters. Count your couples and singles first, then match the cabin plan.
Couples and small groups
For two to four guests, almost any catamaran feels luxurious - you’ll have cabins to spare and huge shared spaces. A slightly smaller yacht keeps the price sensible while still giving you the full crewed experience. This is the sweet spot for a romantic escape or a couples’ trip.
Families with children
Families do best with a catamaran layout where children’s cabins sit near the parents’, and with plenty of flat, safe deck space to spread out. The easy swim access off the back steps is a huge plus with kids. Look for a boat with enough cabins that everyone has their own space at night.
Groups of friends
For a group of eight to twelve, comfort comes from equal cabins (so no one draws the short straw) and generous shared areas - a big cockpit and flybridge for evenings together, a wide foredeck for lounging. A larger catamaran like a 56–62ft model is ideal for keeping a bigger group happy.
Don’t forget the shared spaces
Two identical-length catamarans can feel very different depending on the saloon size, cockpit and outdoor lounging areas - where you’ll actually spend the day. When comparing yachts, look as closely at the deck and living spaces as at the cabin count.
